有趣的英语冷知识（34）Give me the tea是给我杯茶吗？不，是要食瓜呢
寡所周知，茶的英文是tea，茶源于中国。但恐怕良多人不晓得英文tea的来源是出自福建话“茶”字的读音，并且，世界各类语言中，代表茶的发音大多比力不异或者附近，就是类似于“茶”或者tea。
关于tea,有一个很有趣的表达， Give me the tea，歪果仁经常利用，但必然不要理解成是给我一杯茶，它和茶风马牛不相及，tea在那里跟gossip, secret, drama意思差不多，也就是“八卦，绯闻”的意思，类似于我们经常说的“食瓜”。Give me the tea= Share your gossip with us,也能够说成Tell me the tea,意思是：爆一些八卦猛料给我！给我一点八卦呗！
好比：
Did you hear the tea about that actress?
你传闻过阿谁女演员的八卦吗？
Come on! Don't leave us in suspense, give us the tea!
挣脱！别吊各人胃口了，快把你晓得的八卦告诉我们！
He was cheating on her?! Give us the tea，please!
他出轨了？给我一点八卦呗！
